What Happens During Your First Meeting With an MTH Support Coordinator?

What Happens During Your First Meeting With an MTH Support Coordinator?

Starting support coordination can feel overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time navigating the NDIS.

At Made To Help (MTH), we want to make the process as simple, clear, and supportive as possible. That’s why our first visit – often called the meet and greet – is designed to set you up for success right from the beginning.

Here’s what you can expect when your support coordinator visits you for the first time:

1. A Warm Introduction

An experience onboarding support coordinator will take the time to introduce themselves and answer any questions. This is your chance to get to know each other, ask questions, and start building a strong, trusting relationship. It is also a change to go through the end to end process https://madetohelp.com.au/info

2. Going Through the Service Agreement

A key part of the first visit is completing and signing the Service Agreement. This document sets out:

  • The type of support coordination you’ll receive
  • Your rights and responsibilities
  • Our responsibilities as your provider
  • How we’ll work together to reach your goals

The service agreement is not just paperwork – it’s your personalised plan for how we will support you.

3. Talking About Your Goals

Every NDIS plan is built around your goals. During the meet and greet, your coordinator will:

  • Review the goals in your NDIS plan
  • Discuss what matters most to you
  • Explore how your goals fit into the service agreement
  • Start planning what steps we can take to help you achieve them

This ensures we stay focused on what is most important to you, whether that’s becoming more independent, building social connections, or accessing new supports.

4. Code of Conduct and Responsibilities

At MTH, we are committed to the highest ethical and professional standards. During the first visit, both you and your support coordinator will go through the Code of Conduct. This ensures:

  • Everyone understands the expected standards of behaviour
  • You feel safe and respected at all times
  • We are transparent about how we work with you

The Code of Conduct must be signed as part of this first step.

5. Explaining the Next Steps

Finally, your coordinator will explain what happens after the first visit, including:

  • How to contact them
  • What information you need to keep (e.g., copies of signed documents)
  • When and how future meetings will take place
  • What you can expect in the short and long term

This way, you’ll leave the first meeting knowing exactly what comes next.

Why This First Meeting Matters

The meet and greet is more than just paperwork – it’s about starting a partnership. By reviewing your goals, signing the service agreement, and agreeing on the Code of Conduct, we’re laying the foundation for a supportive, ethical, and effective working relationship.

At MTH, we believe that clear communication and trust from day one are key to helping you make the most of your NDIS plan.
